Water is one of Brunswick County's most visible natural resources and for various reasons, all important ones, it's vital to keep track of where it is - to prevent floods and control water runoff and land erosion.
And while the visible water is abundant and pleasing to look at, from the Lockwood Folly and Cape Fear rivers, to inland lakes and the Atlantic Ocean, the water we don't see also contributes to the county's quality of life.
