Southport-Oak Island Area Earth Day Events

Full Description:

April 22, 2007 - Birding walk departing from Waterfront Park, Southport through the Southport Historic District, led by John Ennis, Cape Fear Bird Club. 12pm-2pm - "Loaves and Fishes" Luncheon, Garrison lawn sponsored by Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship. Speakers, music, and displays. Bring food to share. Rain location: Trinity Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. 1pm -Cape Fear Garden Club Cruise to Battery Island, departing Southport Marina on the Starship. Tickets for sale at Backyard Wild, 105 E. Brown Street. 2:30pm-4:30pm: Tours of Southport's Riverwalk with information stations and guides along the way. In case of rain, stations will be set up in tents on the Garrison Lawn. 4:30pm - Kilowatt Ours, film, Southport Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. 5:30pm,6:30pm & 7:30pm: Ecological Sailboat tours on the 52' Carolina Gale. $15 per passenger. Tickets for sale at the Southport Visitors Center. Earth Day events coordinated by Coastal Water Watch.
