NC 4th of July Festival

Full Description:

For over 200 years the City of Southport has celebrated our nation’s independence. This year will be no exception. Over 50,000 people attend the festival each year. Festival events include: naturalization ceremony, over 100 arts & craft booths, food vendors cooking everything from shrimp burgers to bar-b-que, 5K Freedom Run/Walk, parade televised live on WWAY TV-3, Sea Notes Choral Concert, live stage entertainment, fireworks, Franklin Square Art Gallery’s National Art Show, children’s entertainment & games, the opening of the Old Jail, pancake breakfast, Beach Day events such as sandcastle building, surf, horseshoe, volleyball and Shag contests. The official dates of the festival are July 2-5 but some years the organizers include July 1st.
